CGPS Hires Proven Leader as Principal at Jefferson Elementary

Cape Girardeau Public Schools is excited to announce the hiring of Tracy Haggerty as principal of Jefferson Elementary. Haggerty has proven to be a strong and steady administrator, serving as an assistant principal at Cape Central High for the last four years. She is certified in regular and special education. She holds a master's in administration and a specialist in educational administration. Haggerty has worked at the elementary through high school levels and is a district leader in Trauma-Informed Practices and Restorative Discipline. She is very well-versed in curriculum and working to create individualized plans for students to fill in academic gaps. Haggerty has been an educator for 21 years and part of the Cape Girardeau Public Schools family for her entire career.
